Inventory for small businesses

Know the quantity behind the next order.

Record product quantities and follow the effect of invoices on stock, while keeping physical products distinct from services.

When the details are scattered

A remembered quantity can be out of date by the next order. Start from a recorded quantity and check it against physical counts.

How it works

  1. Count what is available

Enter each product's actual quantity as your starting point.

  2. Use saved products

An invoice line linked to a saved product can affect stock. A manually typed line is not an inventory record.

  3. Investigate differences

Compare recorded stock with a physical count and review invoices and changes before correcting a quantity.

Make it concrete

Worked example: twelve items

Starting with twelve pieces, an invoice for two pieces of the saved product leaves ten. A quote for those pieces alone does not mean the stock has left.

An educational example, not an app screen or a real customer's data.

10Remaining quantity

A quantity per product

Keep stock quantity alongside the item's details.

Quotes are not stock reservations

A quotation does not deduct or reserve items like a saved invoice.

Services stay distinct

Avoid treating service work as pieces of physical inventory.

The scope is product quantities and invoice effects. We do not claim multi-warehouse operations, purchasing, supplier management or advanced barcode workflows.
